YM convo

I was browsing through my old YM archive from years back. I was having a crazy situation back then and my good guy friend kinda enlightened me with his opinion about people flirting with others while in a relationship. In fairness, this was around 5 years back yet it all made sense somehow.

This is what he said,

actually, i tried to rationalize why boys do this
(flirt with other women, even though were head over heels with our gf's)
and here is a little explanation
once a guy gets with a girl, his interaction with the opposite sex becomes less and less.
and if he was the type who was very friendly and sociable when he was single...
he'll have a hard time adjusting to his situation being in a relationship
and so he tries and tries real hard..
but sometimes, he just finds himself needing that feeling of simply interacting with the oppsite sex (who isnt his girlfriend)
for reasons like:
1) he still wants to see if he still has IT (will women respond positively to his cuteness and his charm still?!)
2) just to feel that thrill that there is still a possbility of someone, other than his girlfriend, getting attractded to him
3) pampakilig lang talaga since maybe in his relationship with his gf, the kilig has died down (which really happens, ergo LOVE IS INDEED A CHOICE)
so.....
although flirting maybe really "ass-holic" of that guy
i don't think that just because he does it, it means that he loves his girlfriend less...
UNLESS
he takes it beyond flirting and starts making sweet love to that girl!
sometimes, you just have to scratch that itch...and see for yourself if its just the feeling you want, or you're really out of love na..

This goes for both guys and girls. So if you're questioning a relationship similar to this situation, I hopefully wish that this post would at least bring light to you.

promise, it doesn't make you less loved,

postal ID

So, I'm planning to get a Philippine Postal ID tomorrow since I feel like I lack the much needed valid IDs, but then.... I started searching the web for the requirements and turns out I don't have most of it. Fail!

Here's what I need: (hoping you'd be ready when you plan to get yours)

  • Application Form (it is downloadable: HERE)
  • At least 4pcs of 2x2 pictures with white background
  • Barangay clearance or NBI clearance (just bring the form to the barangay and have them authenticate it, i believe they would fill out the lower half)
  • Certificate of Employment (if employed)
  • Cedula
  • Notarize the form before going to the nearest City Hall
I think the ID ranges from PhP300-500 depending on your area. According to the form, it costs PhP175 but you gotta get used to government institutions, prices suddenly get doubled or sometimes even tripled. That's also not the last of your expenses, you should consider transportation going there and back home, having your 2x2 picture taken, barangay clearance fee, cedula fee, and the notarization fee. Oh well, just think that you'd be able to use it for 5 years and it is a certified VALID ID so it should be worth it.

i guarantee

"Look, I guarantee there'll be tough times. I guarantee that at some point, one or both of us is gonna want to get out of this thing. But I also guarantee that if I don't ask you to be mine, I'll regret it for the rest of my life, because I know, in my heart, you're the only one for me."

beef salpicao

I'm kinda brewing up something for lunch and I decided on Beef Salpicao. It's easy to cook without a lot of ingredients needed, mostly just all sorts of flavoring. I'm in the middle of preparations and cooking while typing this. hahaha : ))

Ingredients: (you can tweak this depending on the output you want, i don't always follow measurements)
  • 1 kilo of beef cubes
  • 1 teaspoon of ground pepper
  • 2 tablespoons of worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup of liquid seasoning
  • 1/4 cup of olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 small onion
  • 4 pieces garlic
  • 1/8 cup butter
Procedure:
  1. Get a large bowl and combine the following, beef, half of the garlic, pepper, sugar, and liquid seasoning. Leave it for about 10-15mins.
  2. You can now mix the olive oil, oyster sauce, and worcestershire sauce with the rest and marinade for a least 30mins-1hour.
  3. Heat the pan and then melt the butter to use as oil.
  4. When oil is heated, add the onion and the rest of the garlic then saute the mixture created earlier until the beef turns brown.
  5. Add the rest of the liquid marinade left for it to be absorbed.
  6. Serve hot and add a little sprinkle of toasted garlic on top.
**I SAY LOTS OF GARLIC MAKE A GOOD SALPICAO! : ))

photomicrography

I was browsing online when I chanced upon this particular thing that was new to me but somehow it managed to get me dazed when I look at it. I feel like my artsy fartsy side of the brain is kicking in. I am loving the combinations of colors and how very abstract it looks. I know this can be absolutely hard in terms of photography, I don't think I would ever come up with such beautiful photos. But if we talk about painting per se, this would be an awesome inspiration and I think I should start doing art pieces again soon if I get some free time.

It is called PHOTOMICROGRAPHY: photography with a microscope.

Their particular subject were cocktails since they found it hardest to cover. According to them, "we must crystallize or orient the sample so that polarized light will be refracted as it passes through--giving us the beautiful patterns that we typically see with this type of microscopy."
There are some pieces that I really loved, so I decided to post the TOP 10 PHOTOS I picked out just in case you would want to know what I am raving about.

VODKA TONIC
The Vodka and Tonic combines 1 or 2 ounces of vodka over ice in a highball glass filled with tonic water.

SEX ON THE BEACH
The Sex on the Beach shooter has 1 ounce of vodka, 1 ounce of peach schnapps, 1 ounce of cranberry juice, and 1 ounce of grapefruit juice. The ingredients are mixed and shaken with ice, then strained into shooters.

WHISKEY
Whiskey is a spirit drink distilled from grain containing a portion of barley malt. This is a Jack Daniels single grain sour mash whiskey.

RUM
Native to the Caribbean, rum is a liquor of choice in over 500 different cocktails.

KAMIKAZE
Another deadly concoction: combine 1 ounce of vodka, 1 ounce of Triple Sec, and 1 ounce of lime juice. Combine the ingredients, shake with ice, and strain into a lowball glass.

TEQUILA
The spirit started its way to fame as a cult drink in California during the late 1960s and today is widely used both in cocktails and straight up. (This is my alcoholic weakness BTW)

SPANISH MOSS
This shooter is made with 1 1/2 ounces of Tequila, 1 ounce of Kahlua, and several drops of creme de menthe. Mix the ingredients with ice, strain, and serve in a shooter glass.

STRAWBERRY DAIQUIRI
A frozen cocktail made with one-half ounce of strawberry schnapps, an ounce of light rum, lime juice, and strawberries, and a tablespoon of powdered sugar.

TEQUILA SUNRISE
1 1/2 ounces of tequila, 3/4 ounce of Grenadine, and 4 ounces of orange juice. The Tequila Sunrise is usually served on the rocks in an old-fashioned glass.

MINT JULEP
Mint sprigs with 1 teaspoon of sugar, crushed ice, and 2 to 3 ounces of bourbon. Serve in a chilled glass of your choice.

There you go. I hope this fascinates and inspires you as much as it did to me. Photos and abstract art will always be on the list of my best loves (Okay, fine. Maybe a little bit of drinking too). This is a very good combination of both so KUDOS to the makers, (source: http://micro.magnet.fsu.edu/cocktails/index.html)!!!

Dutdutan 2011

I've always wanted a tattoo ever since I was in high school, its just that, everytime I decide that I want to get one already, my head would be fighting against it. My head would be like, "this would suit my personality well but how would I look when I wear something formal"... etc. I feel like for me to be able to get a tat, it should be a spur of the moment thing so I would have no choice but to go through with it. Since I always have my designs ready, (yup, i designed my own skin art) I would just have to go through with it regardless of anything. I know what I want printed on my skin, I am just really having second thoughts because I still have this 10% feeling that it would look dirty on particular occasions and it would look nasty when I get older and my skin's all wrinkled. I think too much!

P.S. Friends, if you're going, maybe you can drag me there and strap me in the chair. hahaha : )) Actually, I would get "inggit" with everyone getting one that I might just be convinced to do it too. : )

Or maybe next year,

I cannot contain my excitement! I know the trip is around half a year from now, but... but... I am just very ecstatic! I will make sure to look back on this post every now and then so I can memorize everything by the time I leave.

I feel like a crazy person trying to plan exaggeratedly way ahead of time. I'm just OC like that, especially that I am going alone and in a foreign place I've never been to. I just think I should know a little so I can bargain just the right price for everything, I just wanna blend in. I wanna learn to commute too and not to take too much cab rides, that's how I am when I visit a place, I wanna know my way around by taking trains, buses, jeeps, or ferries, I think every traveler should do the same, it doesn't only save you money but sometimes, also time. I actually wanna do backpacking someday, though my friends always tell me I cannot coz I am a girl and it can be very dangerous for me. Nevertheless, I need to cross backpacking alone in my bucket list so I am gonna try soon.

I think knowing the native language of the land goes hand in hand with travelling practically as well as conveniently. In no time, I will be able to speak the basics. It's just like "Tagalog" just a bit of different in intonation.

Lots of luck in learning Bahasa,

MOZU

Ever heard of MOZU CAFE? We'll you should have coz you'd be missing a lot if you haven't tried this coffee bar. I love that it's so near my workplace, it's a 2 minute walk away from the office. : ) The area, like any other resto in the vicinity, is usually crowded during lunch time. Nevertheless, if you just had a long day at work and you are around the corner, it would be a good place to just de-stress and chill since the aura of the place is just so cozy. To add to that, it's not at all pricey so you can hangout here almost everyday without worrying about emptying your pockets.

Mozu has a variety of dishes from pastas to sandwiches, to rice meals, and to super yummy desserts! The cakes are a MUST try. Plus a diverse array of beverages too! : )

My top 2 picks for a MUST TRY are:

Lechon Laing (PhP 165.00)
It's like lechon kawali on top of laing, then they serve it with Mang Tomas and rice. I don't eat Laing at all but this one is an exception. Absolutely exquisitely done. ♥

Frozen Brazo (should be around PhP 120-160)
This too, I don't like Brazo de Mercedes so much because it's too sweet for me yet their Frozen Brazo is just perfectly done. ♥ I never realized it would taste better frozen. hahaha : ))

Next time you are around the Fort or Ortigas area, give it a try, you won't regret it. It is open Monday-Friday, 8-2AM, Saturday 12-7pm. Which reminds me, I never brought the BF and the family here yet, I should remember to schedule it soon. : )

SALE SALE SALE!!!

I will make sure to avoid going around the area until tomorrow just to make sure I wouldn't be tempted. My resources are super depleted as it is!!! BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN YOU SHOULD MISS IT. : )

So, I am avoiding the FOREVER 21 SALE since I kinda overspent on booking tickets for travel next year because of this...
I am gonna have my Eat, Pray, Love moment next year since I decided to travel alone. Contrary to my earlier post, thank you CEBPAC for making this happen. This is gonna be a first for me so wish me luck. There's still a lot of time til next year, so by then, I will be majorly prepped. : )

Excited more than ever,

human♥nature

It started last quarter of 2010, I became very curious with organic products. I really wanted to use something healthier, something without the added stuff in commercialized products. I was reading through online forums and started to get more information about what's available in the market. After doing so, I became very interested in one particular brand, humannature. I think what got me was except for very good product reviews and affordability, part of the proceeds go to Gawad Kalinga. I always believe in being able to give to others in need while satisfying your urge to buy stuff, it becomes more fulfilling that way. It’s always good to know that you’re not just spending and spending but also doing something good for others. Plus, its affordability doesn’t make you live beyond your means. : )

I was lucky enough to have a reseller near my place which is the branch in Santana Grove, Sucat, Paranaque. I wanted to test the products personally before buying that’s why I went to a physical store instead of just buying online. I’m the type who smells and skin tests before buying.
Anyway, I bought:
  • Island Kiss Tinted Lip Balm (PhP 69.75)
  • Sand Dollar Love Minerals Pressed Powder Foundation (PhP 425.00)
  • Pearl Powder and Aloe Vera in Peppermint scent Strengthening Shampoo and Body Wash (500ml - PhP 274.75)
  • Gugo Bark and Calamansi in Peppermint scent Strengthening Conditioner (500ml - PhP 289.75)
  • Sunflower Seed Beauty Oil (50ml - PhP 119.75)
  • Super Fruits and Black Rice Facial Scrub (100ml - PhP 169.75)
  • Royal Jelly and Aloe Vera Night Face Moisturizer (100ml - PhP 174.75)
  • Peppermint, Choco Vanilla, and Watermelon Original Formula Lip Balm (PhP 49.75 each)
  • Moringa and Aloe Vera Hydrating Toner (200ml - PhP 169.75)
  • Goat's Milk and Cocoa in Mango scent Body Butter (200g - PhP 274.75)
  • Goat's Milk and Cocoa Hand and Body Lotion (200ml - PhP 179.75)
  • Bee Propolis and Carrot in Eucalyptus Hand and Foot Salve (50g - PhP 119.75)
  • Cocoa Butter, Lemongrass and Brown Rice Body Scrub (200g - PhP 324.75)
  • Aloe Vera in Watermelon scent Kid's Shampoo and Body wash (500ml - PhP 274.75)
I dunno if I missed anything else but so far these are what I remember. I think I also got too excited with their products and suddenly decided to buy everyone humannature gift packages for Christmas. : )

Here's what I think about their products:

Island Kiss Tinted Lip Balm

It was something like Burt's Bees lip shimmer, moisturizing with a hint of minty feel. It stays on for about 2 hours and it looks matte when applied. After using it for a while though, I went back to using Burt's Bees, despite the price difference, I don't think I can find a better everyday lip product than Burt's Bees.

Sand Dollar Love Minerals Pressed Powder Foundation

I usually use Ellana Mineral products for my day to day make-up. I kinda bought this because I tend to use just pressed powder on my lazy days. It served its purpose for lazy days since it keeps your face from oiliness and it has minimal coverage which looks very natural but I wouldn't really use this for everyday make-up.

Pearl Powder and Aloe Vera in Peppermint scent Strengthening Shampoo and Body Wash

I really love the smell of peppermint! ♥ The shampoo kinda makes the hair dry and that's fine because that's what conditioner's are for. What's good about it is it really minimized my hair fall. This is the only shampoo that doesn't cause hair fall for me. : )

Gugo Bark and Calamansi in Peppermint scent Strengthening Conditioner

Again, I love the smell of peppermint! ♥ The conditioner is a bit runny, not as thick as the normal ones you get in the grocery, I think this is because of lesser use of chemicals. A little goes a long way with this product, you don't really need to use a lot to achieve the softness you desire.

Sunflower Seed Beauty Oil

I super like this one. It moisturizes the face as well as the hair. I use this everyday to manage the frizz in my curls. I don't use it as much on the face, they say it helps in skin ageing but I can't really comment on that since I use a different face product. BTW, just one drop is enough for a day's work. If you use too much, good luck!

Super Fruits and Black Rice Facial Scrub

I used this everyday and it didn't make my skin dry unlike other scrubs. I like the feel of bits and pieces in my skin while scrubbing, like it reaches through the pit of your pores and you'd just feel so clean after.

Royal Jelly and Aloe Vera Night Face Moisturizer

This one, I didn't use that much. I actually still have it until now. I hate sticky everything and this one is just that. Its too sticky for me. There are products that's just sticky in the beginning and eventually gets silky but this one is just plain sticky.

Peppermint, Choco Vanilla, and Watermelon Original Formula Lip Balm

I'm addicted to the peppermint one, same way I'm addicted to Burt's Bees beeswax lip balm. I love it! ♥ I haven't tried the watermelon and choco vanilla flavors since I gave it to my sisters, I'll ask for feedback. : )

Moringa and Aloe Vera Hydrating Toner

I'm not good with toners. I know I'm supposed to use it everyday for better results but I tend to just use it whenever I want to. I cannot give a good review for this product but on the minimal times I've used this, I felt so refreshed and clean. LOL :D

Goat's Milk and Cocoa in Mango scent Body Butter

Same as the night face moisturizer, this one is also too sticky for me. I don't think it is advisable on our oh-so-sunny weather. When its too hot, it just feels gross on your skin. You can only use it when you're in an air conditioned room the whole day so you won't feel as sticky.

Cocoa Butter, Lemongrass and Brown Rice Body Scrub***

I majorly adore this product!!! I can use this everyday. I love the smell, i love how it moisturizes my skin, I love how it sheds off dead cells, and I love the cleanliness I feel when I use this. This one never fails me to ask for more. : )

Aloe Vera in Watermelon scent Kid's Shampoo and Body wash

I bought this one for Mischa (that's my daughter's name). My mom eventually made her stop using it since same as the strengthening shampoo, it also dries the hair and kids don't use conditioner so it kinda made Mischa's hair feel like crap.

So there, I've said my piece. I actually promote the products I really like quite well that most of my friends and family eventually started using humannature products too. I like bringing up the new things I try during casual conversations and do not realize that I've already convinced people that it is worth buying and using.

Creating this post made me realize I need to visit the branch soon to get a new Cocoa Butter, Lemon Grass and Brown Rice Body Scrub already! You should try some of their stuff too. : )

Piso Fare

The other day, I was browsing through tweets in my mobile when I noticed that Cebu Pacific launched another PISO FARE seat sale.

Since I promised my "yaya" that I will buy her tickets when a promo fare comes around as an early Christmas gift, of course, after seeing the promotion, I automatically tried to check their website. It became very disappointing as it was only 2 hours after the promotion was announced and there was nothing available on the site at all. Believe me when I say, I tried to browse all the flights to Dipolog from Oct 15 - Dec 14, 2011, yet there's nothing!

I thought it was just Dipolog since there are very minimal flights going MLA-DPL-MLA, but no, I checked Caticlan, Bacolod, etc... since they have a lot of flights going back and forth yet there's still none. Is it me? Did all the flights to all destinations available sell out in a span of 2 hours or did they just post like 1-3 flights? Or is it just a technical error online? I dunno... but I am giving them the benefit of the doubt since I was able to book my CDO trip through a PISO FARE promotion months ago anyway.

I am just hoping they would try to update their website whenever they launch promotions since it's exaggeratedly slow due to traffic and there are a lot of errors which is really not a browser or internet problem. I am not gonna wish for a better customer service anymore since that is very hard to find nowadays just a good online service would be enough.
To all the readers out there, what suggestions or tips do you have regarding seat sales?

Really counting on betterment,

PROM

So I kinda watched this new Disney teen flick since I didn't have anything better to do. It wasn't so bad, just what you would expect from a "prom" movie except it didn't focus on superficiality which made it a bit better. They were able to show the diversity of people and how prom really is for them. It was very predictable but very oh-i-know-how-it-felt at the same time and that makes their target market relate to their plot well.

If you're interested on what the movie is about, here's a little something I got from the web since I'm not in the mood to summarize it myself:
"Prom centers on about five different scenarios all wrapped up into one movie. The scenarios are a romance story between the class president and a ruffian, another love story between a dweeb and a beautiful sophomore, a small side story about a guy trying to get someone to come to a prom, another story of deceit and betrayal, and finally a story about an ideal relationship hitting a rocky course." (rgkarim)

Anyhooooo, this guy, Thomas McDonell, who played "Jesse" in the movie looks really HOT! His hotness created a "kilig" factor in this flick which made it watchable. Hoping for more roles for him in the future. He's like a Johnny Depp/Orlando Bloom cross breed. LOL : ) I can feel him getting far in this industry if they would give him more awesome roles. : )

My verdict? 3/5 stars. ★★★☆☆ Watchable but nothing great. : )

Oh, BTW, just a little leeway to another topic while I'm at this and it's almost midnight...
Happy 4th Anniversary HONEY!
I love thee to bits and pieces! ♥♥♥

Lots of lovin' and kisses,
